The Actual Facts

February 27, 1995 at around 1:12pm, Terrence Mumphrey and Bobby Wiley Jr were walking up Lincoln Ave. in E. St. Louis Illinois. As the two men approached 42nd Street, a white vehicle pulled up on the side of them and opened fire. Bobby Wiley Jr. fell on the spot, two bullets found his torso and buttock. Terrence Mumphrey took off running in the opposite direction towards 43rd Street.

The White Vehicle made a U-Turn in pursuit of Mumphrey. According to witnesses the white vehicle then drove through the driveway of a house at 1720 N 43rd Street where in lived Camenia, April, and Maria Wells. Latisha Cain was there as well.

After allegedly driving through the driveway, the white vehicle swerved into the back yard of a vacant house to the right. At that point two men exited the vehicle, ran across an alley headed towards 44th Street. Jolivet Lang lived at 1716 44th Street. On February 27, 1995 at around 1:12 pm, while standing at the kitchen sink, he looked out the window and saw a light skinned individual run along side of his house toward the front. According to Lang the light skinned individual was being pursued by two other men.

Lang heard someone banging on his front door trying to gain entry. Seconds later Lang heard several gunshots coming from his front porch. Lang then saw the same two men in pursuit of the light skinned individual walk from his yard and then run across the street through a field on the opposite side of 44th street.

Terrence Mumphrey was found shot seven times on Langs front porch. Bobby Wiley Jr. and Terrence Mumphrey succomed to their gun shot wounds.
